Angua and Nashaka by WolfMoon

Portrait of my husbands WOW character Nashaka (level 80 Shaman) and our pet rat Angua watching out over a Northrend landscape. I got this idea on the tram on my way home from work one day. I asked my husband which one of his character he wanted to have portrayed with Angua. He said Nashaka and this image were born. Made in Watercolours and acrylics. Angua is one of our beloved rats that is very dear to us. Today she is over two years old, sick in uterus cancer but still telling the 5 small kids in the cage who is in charge! Ah! back to using my regular watercolour paper!! Arabian horse in watercolours... My husband, who work as a chef, bought new flake salt for the kitchen. I managed to steal some as I find flake salt perfect to paint with. Needless to say he's not all that happy about me stealing his salt ;) © Cecilia Engdahl 2008

This one begun as an experiment using masking fluid. The window and parts of the female wolf were masked, but as my masking fluid were old (had been hidden away in a cupboard for a few years) it didn't work as expected. After peeling off the mask the paper had yellowed, the surface rugged and the pencil sketch half gone. I did my best to save it and this is the outcome. Maybe a bit pale as my scanner are a pain in the xxx...

My character "Chaileigh" from an IRC based RP. She has just found out that her mother died one year ago, but found herself lost and confused. "You don't miss it until it's gone" is the theme of this painting. Size: 30 x 42 cm/ 11.7" x 16.5" Thanks to Spocha that came with suggestions along the way.
